Chhath Puja 2017 dates - Chhath Puja Calendar - Chath Puja in 2017
Chhath Puja is observed for four days in Kartik month (October – November) in Bihar, Jharkhand and other parts of India after Diwali. Chhath Puja 2017 dates as per Hindu calendar are October 26 (Sandhya Argh – Chhat Dala Evening puja) and October 27 (Suryodaya Argh – Chhath Dala Morning puja). Nahai Khai is on October 24, 2017 and Kharna is on October 25, 2017. The puja and rituals are dedicated to Surya, Kartik, Agni and Chhathi Mayya.
The main rituals take place on the sixth and seventh day during the Shukla Paksha or waxing phase of moon. The important rituals include strict fasting and offerings to Surya Bhagvan (Sun God) on river bank or seashore.
